As I close the books on 2017 I'm reminded of some of the great personal and professional adventures I was lucky to experience this year--always with camera in hand and sometimes with Carol by my side. I'm grateful for all of my opportunities and for my clients who continue to trust me with their projects. For my final post of 2017 I'm sharing some of my favorite images from my most recent personal trip--a trip to Kenya in early December. My biggest challenge to photographing in Kenya was being able to shoot fast enough to capture all of the amazing possibilities--animals, people, landscapes, and more. I haven't yet processed all of the images from the 15-day trip. For now, I hope you'll enjoy some of the wildlife images taken while driving across the amazing African savanna. If you ever have the chance to go to Kenya--or anywhere in Africa, I recommend you do. It's a magical place.
Happy New Year,
For the last few months I had the pleasure of photographing the newly expanded and renovated Mulva Family Fitness & Sports Center at St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI. This 130,000 sq. ft. building is a far cry from the college "gyms" I recall from my college years. The $26 million project wrapped up just in time for the graduating seniors to take a dip in the new pool during their last week on campus and receive their diplomas in the beautified space. Outgoing St. Norbert College President, Tom Kunkel, christened the new pool with a farewell dive at the conclusion of the building dedication. A great shoot on a beautiful campus!

Changing perspective of common surroundings is a great way to add interest to corporate and industrial images. Lake Superior from the air Winding Minnesota stream from the air
Client work took me to Milwaukee's unique Third Ward recently to photograph some sampling work on the Milwaukee River. While I didn't get a chance to spend any time roaming around, or even get to the Public Market, I had a great morning on the River and got to see the Third Ward from a different vantage point than most.
Welcome to my blog! Going forward I plan to use this space to share some of my professional work (and occasionally my personal work) as a Wisconsin-based photographer who specializes in architecture, corporate, and industrial assignments.
In 2015 I had the pleasure of working with Performa, Inc. (architects) to photograph the new Gehl-Mulva Science Center at St. Norbert College. Given that the building has been completed for more than a year, I was pretty surprised when I saw the images turn up in the January 2017 issue of Wisconsin Architect magazine. If you're interested in seeing these images check them out in the electronic magazine (http://www.wisconsinarchitect.org/#/gehl-mulvasc/) or on my website.
